I was pretty impressed with how the replacements and players who weren't as well-known really stepped up and played well against the Raiders today. The Broncs might be building something special here, which is a bit surprising given they won the comp last year. I suppose what I mean is that the club culture seems strong and the new players seem well-prepared and integrated into the team's systems. Credit to the coaching staff.

Broncos vs Raiders

Key Performances

Dean Mariner and Ezra Mam both scored some pretty good tries! Ezra Mam's try was especially memorable, as it seemed like he might have touched the sideline. There was a funny moment when Ezra looked at the camera and chuckled when the try was finally confirmed. I reckon he knows he was pretty lucky to get that one.

Another kinda funny moment came when Steven Crichton gave his teammates a spray after he himself knocked the ball on. Kind of a strange one, usually players are pretty contrite after messing up like that. The wheels were kinda coming off for the Bulldogs at that point so I guess he was just frustrated.

Second-Half Dominance

When Canterbury finally scored with 24 minutes left in the game it felt like they might have a chance of making a comeback. The momentum started to swing but a series of strong defensive efforts by the Broncos killed any chance of that happening. Katoni Staggs was particularly good in defence.

All in all it was a good day out for the Broncos despite the long list of injuries keeping the stars in street clothes.
